Pyro & special effects

Light and pyro.
One show file.

Fire gerbs on the drop, roll haze through the beams and hit the confetti on the final chord — cued beside your lighting, armed before anything can go.

The real thing

This is the Pyro & SFX page.

Pyro on the left — armed, then fired. Special effects on the right — smoke, haze and fans, set to a level. Here it is armed, with a switch pack and a hazer patched.

Pyro & Special Effects: arm, then fire; special effects run on a level

Arm, then fire

Hold to arm the system, arm each device, then hold to fire. Disarm all is one press — and it disarms itself after ten minutes.

On the music

Pyro and effects cues sit on the same timeline as your lighting, so the gerbs land on the beat every single night.

Every kind of device

Switch packs and relays, launchers, flame, CO2 jets and cold spark — patched like any other fixture.

Atmosphere on a level

Smoke machines, hazers, fans and bubbles are set to a level. They ignore the Grand Master and Blackout, so the room stays hazy.

Safe by default

Pyro only goes when the system is armed, the device is armed and you fire it — by hand, or from its own lane on the timeline. Looks, cues, effects and group faders never fire it.

People stay in charge

Kinelight isn’t a certified pyrotechnic firing system. Use each device’s own hardware interlock and a licensed operator, and keep the area clear.

Cued on the music

The gerbs hit on the drop. Every night.

Pyro and effects live on the same timeline as your lights — here as lanes on the iPad, right under the cues. Record the cue as the track plays, nudge it onto the drop, and arm when you’re ready to run the show.

Can Kinelight fire pyro?

Kinelight triggers pyro through switch packs and DMX: you arm the system, arm each device, then fire — by hand or from the pyro lane on the timeline. Looks, cues and effects never fire it. Kinelight isn’t a certified pyrotechnic firing system — use each device’s own hardware interlock and a licensed operator, and keep the area clear.

What about haze, smoke, CO2 and confetti?

Smoke machines, hazers, fans and bubbles run on a level and ignore the Grand Master and Blackout, so the room stays hazy. CO2, confetti and flame units are armed and fired like pyro, and can be cued on the music.

Pyro is included. So is everything else.

Pyro & SFX is part of Kinelight Pro — £399 a month for the whole show — and Kinelight Venue.
