Who we are

Kinelight is made by BRNZY (brnzy.co.uk). We decide what happens to the information on this page.

What we keep

Your account

Name, email, sign-in details and profile (photo, company, job, phone, town if you add them).

Why: To sign you in and link your Macs to your subscription.

How long: Until you delete your account (Profile → Delete account).

Subscriptions and licences

Plan, dates, activation code, the Macs you link (a machine id and the name you give it) and when they last checked in.

Why: To run the licence the app checks every so often.

How long: While your account exists. When you delete it, your Macs are removed and your licences are switched off and stripped of your name, email and code.

Payments

Handled by Stripe. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription ids, never your card details.

Why: To know what you've paid for.

How long: Billing records are kept as long as UK law requires (normally six years), even after an account is deleted.

Mailing list

Name, email, what you do, and a phone number only if you choose to give one.

Why: To email you news, the demo and new features — only because you ticked the box.

How long: Until you unsubscribe. Every email has an unsubscribe link; after that we keep only a note that you left (so you're never emailed again) and delete your phone number.

Feature ideas and problem reports

What you write, your email, the app version and, if you attach them, a screenshot or show file.

Why: To answer you and improve Kinelight.

How long: Until the request is closed. Deleting your account removes your name and email from them.

Code activation attempts

Your account id, whether a code worked, and when.

Why: To stop people guessing codes.

How long: One day.

Cookie choices

The choice you make in Privacy settings, with when it was made.

Why: To remember and prove your choice.

How long: Up to a year, then we ask again.

Who helps us run it

These companies store or process information for us, only to provide their service. We don’t sell your details or share them for anyone else’s marketing.

• Notion — our mailing list and request tracker
• Inth (c15t) — storing cookie choices
• Google Fonts — the typeface on this site — your browser asks Google for it
• GitHub — hosting the Mac app downloads

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies it needs: to keep you signed in and to remember your cookie choice. If we add anything else, such as analytics, it will wait for your yes. Change your choice any time from Privacy settings at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Most of it you can do yourself: edit your profile, unsubscribe from any email, or delete your account from your Profile. For anything else, reply to any Kinelight email or, when signed in, use Request a feature or report a problem. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
